TALL Missionary Tales

Hayden is serving in the Washington DC South Mission. He is having some great spiritual experiences as well as some fun adventures on our nation's capitol.

Just another day of tracting.

Lord's Monument
Well, more than a monument!
 Washington DC Temple

Highway to Heaven!?!
Sight of the Washington DC Temple as they were driving toward it on the freeway. Hayden said it was pretty impressive.

Hayden and his companion were able to attend the temple with a family that his companion baptised 18 months ago.

From Hayden's letter, "It was such a great experience to be able to witness a temple sealing. It made me realize, even more, the importance of being sealed together as a family. While I was in the sealing room I was thinking about dad being able to attend a sealing at the DC temple. I wonder if we were in the same sealing room that he was in! Who knows?
"I think my favorite part was when they let the kids in and they were all kneeling together. They looked so happy. They all stared into each others eyes and smiled the whole time. You could tell that they loved each other and that they were seeing each other, not just for time, but for all eternity."
[As a side note: Many years ago Brian served in the North Carolina Greensboro Mission. A couple he had baptized were being sealed at the same time that Brian was scheduled to go home. Brian had permission to attend the DC temple with them on his way home from his mission. However, the session and travel time took longer than expected, so he missed his flight home to Spokane and had to call his mom and tell her he would be home the next day.]

Hayden and his companion decided to take a "shortcut". Oops!

This is what it looks like when a bunch of missionaries go to a Major League Baseball game.
Sorry, I do not know who was playing.

Late for an appointment?
Hayden said the train was moving.
I think the tracks are close to where they live.

Resting on the railroad tracks.

Oh my, another picture near a moving train!

Kind of a neat picture on the tracks. Prompts this mother to say, "ok, cool pictures, now...back to work!"

Hayden's photos show his fun adventures; his emails tell of his growth and spiritual experiences.
